Straightforward Hourly Pricing for Variable Electrical Work

Some electrical maintenance jobs are difficult to price accurately without first investigating the installation. The time required can depend on the condition of the existing wiring, accessibility, the cause of the fault, the type of replacement product and whether additional defects are discovered.

Attending the property solely to prepare a fixed quotation can also be disproportionate for smaller jobs. Our hourly electrical maintenance service allows customers to book an electrician directly without arranging a separate quotation visit.

The electrician will assess the work on arrival and complete it wherever reasonably possible. If the visit identifies substantial installation or remedial work beyond the original request, AC1 Electrical Services Ltd can provide a separate quotation before that additional work proceeds.

Pricing Terms

  • Charges and Expenses

    • A minimum charge of one hour applies.

    • After the first hour, labour is charged in half-hour increments.

    • Labour time begins when the electrician arrives at the property.

    • The higher inside-zone hourly rate applies to properties located within the London Congestion Charge Zone; the Congestion Charge is not added again as a separate fee.

    • Materials and replacement products are charged separately.

    • Parking, tolls and other applicable expenses are additional.

  • Payment and Scope

    • No card details or upfront payment are required when booking this routine service.

    • An invoice is issued after the work has been completed.

    • Customers can use the available payment methods shown on the invoice.

    • Approved business account customers retain their agreed payment terms.

The hourly booking covers routine electrical maintenance, investigation and minor works. It is not a fixed-price quotation for an unlimited scope of work.

Larger installation projects will be quoted separately and normally require a 50% deposit before work begins.

Help Us Prepare for Your Appointment

When booking, customers should provide a clear description of the work required and identify each task they would like the electrician to consider during the visit.

Photographs can be uploaded where available. These may help us understand the existing installation, identify likely materials and ensure the electrician arrives appropriately prepared. Photographs do not always establish the complete scope or condition of an electrical installation and therefore do not constitute a fixed quotation.

Useful Booking Information

  • Customer and site contact details

  • Property address and postcode

  • Residential, commercial or industrial property type

  • Description of each task or fault

  • Number and type of accessories requiring attention

  • Photographs where available and safe to obtain

  • Access and parking restrictions

  • Whether someone will be present throughout the appointment

  • Previous reports or relevant electrical information

Is Your Electrical Problem Urgent?

This service is intended for routine, non-urgent electrical maintenance and repairs.

Do not wait for a routine appointment if there are exposed live wires, smoke, sparks, a strong burning smell, electrical equipment becoming dangerously hot or another immediate risk of electric shock or fire.

Keep away from the affected area, do not touch exposed wiring and only switch off the affected circuit or electrical supply if it is safe to do so.

For urgent electrical problems, use our Emergency Electrician service.

Electrical Work Completed and Recorded Properly

  • What the Service Covers

This service covers fixed electrical wiring, circuits, lighting and electrical accessories. It does not include internal repairs to portable appliances, white goods, boilers, specialist equipment or machinery.

  • Certification and Records

Where the work requires electrical testing or certification, AC1 Electrical Services Ltd will provide the appropriate documentation. Depending on the scope, this may include:

    • Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate

    • Electrical Installation Certificate

    • Relevant test results

    • Photographic completion evidence

    • Details of faults identified

    • Recommendations for additional work

    • A separate quotation where further repairs are required

Not every like-for-like maintenance task requires an electrical certificate. The electrician will complete the checks appropriate to the work undertaken.

If substantial installation work, specialist materials or a further visit is required, this will be explained and quoted separately before proceeding.
